A 41-year-old man was found dead this evening inside his flat on via Parini in Corsico, a town on the outskirts of Milan. The victim was identified as Alessio Borelli, an Italian with a police record for drug offences, who lived alone in the flat.
The body was discovered after neighbours alerted the fire service because of a bad smell coming from the flat. The flat was locked from the outside and firefighters were only able to enter through a window. Inside, the flat was found in a state of disarray.
According to what investigators reported, the corpse showed "signs consistent with violent death", with some knife wounds to the abdomen. A knife stained with blood was found next to the body. The body was in a state of decomposition.
Carabinieri from the Scientific Investigation section of the Investigative Unit, the pathologist and duty magistrate Ilaria Perinu of the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office attended the scene. The flat will be seized. An investigation is underway by carabinieri from the Corsico company, proceeding on a charge of murder.
