Inter's Curva Nord, Ferdico testifies: "Beretta deserved to be killed on the street, we had weapons"
New justice collaborator Marco Ferdico testifies in court revealing details of the plan to kill Andrea Beretta and the murder of Vittorio Boiocchi.
Ferdico in court: blood, weapons and betrayals behind Inter's Curva Nord
Il Fatto Quotidiano - Cronaca reports the statements made in court by Marco Ferdico, new justice collaborator and former leader of the Inter Curva Nord, during his interrogation on 8 July 2026. Ferdico led that curve for around two years alongside former friend Andrea Beretta and Antonio Bellocco, representative of the 'ndrangheta from Rosarno. In court, an internal feud emerged consisting of one murder carried out and two others that remained unfinished.
"Milan is a criminal city, the curve is a criminal environment," Ferdico said, connected by videoconference from a protected location whilst the victim's relatives were present in court. His words had not emerged in the three previous statements.
The murder of Boiocchi: "A mafia method, it was a signal"
Ferdico opened his account with the murder of Vittorio Boiocchi, which took place on 29 October 2022. He outlined the role of his father-in-law Pietro Andrea Simoncini in the action, hoping for his collaboration with the authorities, before going into the details of the execution. "We had to shoot Boiocchi in the face to make the murder dramatic and thus prevent others from wanting to take over the Curve. We used a mafia method because it was a signal."
Pressed by prosecutor Paolo Storari, Ferdico also implicated Matteo Norrito, known as Chuck, former member of Inter's executive committee and close to the Curva Sud of Luca Lucci. Norrito — already convicted in the first instance within the Doppia Curva investigation, but currently not under investigation for the murder — was aware of the project, according to Ferdico, and proposed eliminating Boiocchi with fists rather than a gun, to draw less attention. "We tell Norrito about the murder and one evening we rush to his house to ask him for his T Max to carry out the action." Norrito refused.
"We then tell him that we wanted to shoot Boiocchi in the face — Ferdico added —. Norrito however supported the fake brawl also because Boiocchi had had a heart problem a few months before." As for the motorbike used in the action: "When the motorbike was handed over, Norrito was present. He had accompanied Beretta to pick up the scooter."
In court, Ferdico attributed an active role to Maurino Nepi in the planning of the murder: "Nepi created the murder of Boiocchi. He put the puzzle together." In the last hearing in which Nepi is being tried with abbreviated proceedings, the prosecutor has contested premeditation. The court reserved judgement until 22 July.
The plan to eliminate Beretta: surveillance, weapons and an informer
The second strand of the account concerns the project to kill Andrea Beretta, known as il Berro. The motive, according to Ferdico, was financial: Beretta kept for himself the proceeds from the Curva Nord shop and merchandising, without sharing with others. "Beretta kept the shop money for himself. And having all had a role in the single banner, in my opinion the idea was that everything that came in had to be shared. I shared everything. For example, from the entrance of a gate for the first red, thanks to my contacts, one evening I earned 5,000 euros and I shared it."
The operational plan took shape from 31 August 2024. "What Beretta was doing needed to be washed with blood especially at a table where there was a Bellocco. We carried out surveillance of the rugby field. He had overstepped the mark and deserved to be killed. We waited for over a year." The execution was planned on the street, outside a restaurant in Milan: Giuseppe Poerio, known as Pinna, currently not under investigation, was supposed to do the shooting. "We already had the weapons, a .38 and a .765 with a silencer."
Before final approval, Ferdico consulted Norrito again. "Since I knew about the investigations into Curva Nord, I asked Norrito what he thought about a murder on the street and I told him to ask an SLO — Supporter Liaison Officer, Inter's official for relations with organised supporters — how the investigations were going. Norrito said that killing Beretta on the street would be the end of the Curve."
Bellebuono's betrayal and the turning point of 4 September
On 31 August, Beretta appeared at a meeting at a swimming pool with behaviour that made Ferdico suspicious. "That day Beretta was armed, or had the weapon in his car. He had the wary look of someone expecting something." Ferdico also feared that Beretta's thefts could compromise his position with the Bellocco clan: "I also feared that the Belloccos might think that I was in agreement with Beretta."
Beretta had been warned of the plan by Daniel D'Alessandro, known as Bellebuono — a fact that Ferdico said he only discovered later, in prison. "If I had been sure it was him, I would have taken Bellebuono to Ponte di Legno, killed him and buried him."
The plan did not come to fruition. On the morning of 4 September 2024, less than a week after the swimming pool meeting, it was Beretta who killed Antonio Bellocco with dozens of knife wounds to the heart. Beretta knew of the project against him because Bellebuono had told him about it.
In court also the case of the father: new defence lawyers for Gianfranco Ferdico
On the sidelines of the hearing, the lawyer for Gianfranco Ferdico, Marco's father, withdrew from his appointment. New defence lawyers were appointed, a circumstance that suggests a similar path to the one undertaken by his son towards collaboration with the authorities. The judicial proceedings relating to Curva Nord remain open on multiple fronts, with further hearings scheduled in the coming weeks.
