Twelve Albanians arrested after 63 hotel thefts in South Tyrol
Carabinieri and the Bolzano Public Prosecutor's Office have dismantled a gang of thieves that struck 63 times in hotels in the autonomous province. The damage amounts to 300,000 euros, and three kilograms of cocaine were also seized.

Carabinieri have arrested twelve suspected serial thieves in South Tyrol. The men are alleged to have committed a total of 63 thefts in hotels, mainly four and five-star establishments, in the autonomous province, causing damage of approximately 300,000 euros. During searches, investigators also seized three kilograms of cocaine.
Since August 2025, investigative authorities have worked together with the Bolzano Public Prosecutor's Office to shed light on the series of thefts. According to reports from Kleine Zeitung and Tiroler Tageszeitung, the suspects are Albanian men around 30 years old.
In addition to the twelve arrested, another five people have been placed under house arrest. The search is currently ongoing for two other suspects. According to investigations by South Tyrolean media, the defendants would also have been active in other regions of Italy.
