Carabinieri from Empoli arrested two men found in possession of cocaine, hashish, 5,000 euros in cash and a machete in the Cerbaie woods.

Two individuals have been arrested in the Cerbaie woods, a natural area that stretches between the provinces of Florence, Pisa and Pistoia. The operation was conducted by Carabinieri from the Empoli company, who received support from Sardinian forest rangers and the Canine Unit of Villanova d'Albenga. These specialised units had been monitoring the area for some time with targeted checks.
The military personnel found approximately forty grammes of cocaine and thirty-seven grammes of hashish on the detainees. The narcotics were already divided into individual doses, ready to be sold to buyers. In addition to the drugs, the authorities confiscated equipment used for packaging individual doses and a sum of money equal to five thousand euros, considered to be proceeds from drug dealing.
During the search, the possession of a machete measuring forty-five centimetres in length was also discovered. Because of this weapon, the two were charged with unauthorised carrying of arms.
After the arrest validation hearing, the judge decided to impose on both a ban from residing anywhere in the Tuscany region.
