Drugs hidden in intimate areas for incarcerated partner: 48-year-old woman arrested in Bologna
A 48-year-old woman was arrested at Bologna's Dozza prison after attempting to bring cocaine and hashish to her incarcerated partner. Drugs and €335 were found at her home.

An Italian woman, 48 years old, was arrested and placed under house arrest after being discovered, during a visit in Bologna's Dozza prison, with approximately 35 grammes of hashish and 15 grammes of cocaine hidden in her intimate areas. This is reported by ilrestodelcarlino.it.
The prison police in Bologna's unit identified the woman while she was speaking with her partner, held at the Dozza for offences including theft and resisting a public official. The officers therefore requested authorisation from the duty prosecutor for a home search, conducted with the support of the State police's canine units.
In the woman's residence, a further 18 grammes of hashish, five grammes of cocaine and €335 in cash were found, believed to be proceeds from illicit activity. The woman was arrested and subsequently subjected to a precautionary measure of house arrest.
Giovanni Battista Durante, deputy general secretary of the Sappe, and Francesco Campobasso, national secretary, expressed appreciation for the operation: "Our commendation goes to the coordinator of the visits unit and to all the colleagues who work there for the excellent operation carried out, in collaboration with the State police."
The two union representatives took the opportunity to highlight a structural deficiency: "Emilia-Romagna is probably the only region that still does not have canine units, despite this being discussed for years and Bologna having a suitable site to establish the unit."
