Fabrizio Corona moves towards plea deal on bankruptcy: 40,000 euros paid to the treasury
Corona has compensated the Revenue Agency and aims to close the Milan proceedings on Fenice srl with a sentence of 10 months convertible into a fine.
Plea deal in sight for Corona in Fenice srl case
Fabrizio Corona is aiming to close with a plea deal the proceedings against him before the Milan Tribunal for an allegation of bankruptcy linked to Fenice srl, one of his former companies. This is reported by ANSA Cronaca.
At the centre of the proceedings is an apartment that Corona occupied in via De Cristoforis, in Milan's nightlife district a few steps from corso Como. According to investigations conducted by prosecutor Luigi Luzi, the former photographic agent allegedly registered the property "fictitiously" to a collaborator, thereby removing it from the company's assets.
Corona has already paid approximately 40,000 euros in compensation to the Revenue Agency and has agreed with the Milan Prosecutor's Office on a sentence of 10 months, convertible into a fine, in continuation with a previous final conviction relating to the collapse of another of his companies.
Tomorrow a final hearing is scheduled before judge Nicola Clivio of the second criminal division, who must decide whether to ratify the agreement between prosecution and defence.
In a previous hearing last June, Corona, assisted by lawyers Ivano Chiesa and Cristina Morrone, rejected all charges: "We have no debts to anyone, we have never stolen anything from anyone, indeed we had receivables that were never paid to us."
Meanwhile, on 21 May Corona and his lawyer Chiesa are expected at Palazzo Chigi for a separate hearing: the Milan proceedings for aggravated defamation against the former "king of the paparazzi" and another defendant, relating to an article published in October 2023 on the Dillingernews.it website. In that hearing, before judge of the eighth criminal division Nicoletta Marchegiani, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will testify as a witness and interested party.
