Charges brought
The charges ranged from aggravated theft to aggravated fraud, from unlicensed carrying of weapons to driving under the influence, as well as threats, unlawful use of payment cards and drug trafficking. Two people were charged following an attempted theft of clothing items from a shop.
On Asinara, four people were fined for entering a protected area by boat; two others for irregular parking in a restricted traffic zone.
The armed man in Mores and the escape in Ittiri
On the afternoon of 13 August, in Mores, a search of a man's home — carried out after he had directed threats at military personnel engaged in fighting a fire — led to the discovery of an air rifle with kinetic energy exceeding legal limits, classified as an ordinary firearm, and two blank-firing pistols. The man was arrested in flagrante delicto for unlicensed possession of an ordinary firearm and threatening a public official.
That same afternoon, in Ittiri, carabinieri of the Alghero Company arrested a man for escaping house arrest, found in a different residence from that specified in the order.
Three arrests for drug trafficking between Olbia and Trinità d'Agultu
In Olbia, the Radio Mobile Section of the Operational Unit stopped a man found in possession of more than 92 grammes of cocaine. Two other arrests for possession with intent to supply were made in Trinità d'Agultu.
The drug camper
The most significant seizure took place on the night of Ferragosto in Trinità d'Agultu, where the local station stopped a man and a woman aboard a camper. Inside, military personnel found an assortment of substances: approximately 512 grammes of ketamine, 287 of amphetamine, 265 of marijuana in part already divided into doses, 98 of MDMA in tablet form, 66 of MD, 45 of cocaine, 14 of hashish and 5.4 grammes of hallucinogenic mushrooms.
Along with the drugs, a precision scale, packaging material, cutting agents and various chemical preparations were seized — including potassium iodide, iodine, magnesium, glucosamine and vegetable charcoal. Two katanas, a baseball bat and a flick knife were also recovered.
The arrest in Sennori
Also on the night of Ferragosto, in Sennori, carabinieri of the Radio Mobile Unit of the Porto Torres Company arrested a man caught attempting to force open the lock of his ex-partner's apartment door with a drill. He faces charges of maltreatment of family or household members and attempted breaking and entering.
August summary
Broadening the picture to the entire month of August, the Provincial Command's activities resulted in the identification of more than 5,000 people and the checking of 3,072 vehicles, with 179 road code violations. On the criminal front, the total rises to 19 arrests and 121 charges.
