Frosinone, jealousy dispute turns violent: two charged with aggravated assault

Yesterday evening, in the upper part of Frosinone, in via Acciaccarelli, a foreign national was seriously injured and attended to whilst suffering from significant bleeding. The intervention of the State Police was activated following a report to the emergency number 112.

Officers from the Rapid Response Squad, assisted by the Mobile Squad, rapidly reconstructed the circumstances of the assault. The investigation allowed them to identify two residents of the Lazio capital, both involved in the beating.

According to the reconstruction, the motive appears to be linked to a romantic dispute over a woman. One of the two attackers struck the victim with a dog lead, whilst the other inflicted a wound to the victim's back using a sharp object. Both assailants were wounded, but refused medical treatment.

In light of the evidence gathered, police proceeded to charge the two men whilst at liberty for the offence of aggravated assault in concert. Personal and domestic searches were carried out in the course of operations.

It is recalled that the suspects are currently only suspected of the offence and their position will need to be definitively evaluated by the judicial authorities, in accordance with the presumption of innocence.
