Drug seizure in the centre of Romano di Lombardia
Local police in the Lower Eastern Bergamo District have seized hashish and cocaine in an area adjacent to the San Filippo Neri oratory in Romano di Lombardia, according to ecodibergamo.it. The operation forms part of territorial control activities and action against the trafficking of narcotic substances.
During an observation service in the city centre, officers identified suspicious activity in the vicinity of the oratory. The surveillance made it possible to establish an alleged drug transaction and to intervene promptly.
Subsequent checks resulted in the discovery and seizure of various types of substances: hashish and cocaine, some of which had already been divided into doses ready for distribution.
This is the sixth enforcement operation recorded in the municipal area in recent times, all linked to investigations into possession and trafficking of drugs.
Mayor Gianfranco Gafforelli expressed appreciation for the work of the officers, describing the fight against drug-dealing and the decline of spaces frequented by young people as "an absolute priority".
