The Mobile Squad of Siena has arrested a 38-year-old nurse on suspicion of possession with intent to supply narcotics. According to rainews.it, among the most significant elements of the operation was the discovery of drugs directly inside the Santa Maria alle Scotte hospital, where the man was employed.
The investigation began with the search of a consumer found in possession of hashish for personal use. From that initial finding, officers traced the alleged supplier and carried out searches at both his residence and his workplace.
During the searches, approximately 100 grammes of hashish were seized, several doses of already packaged cocaine, marijuana, cutting agents, a precision electronic scales and material for packaging doses. Part of the drugs was found inside the hospital facility itself.
Among the seized materials were also three electronic cigarettes containing resin that tested positive for cannabinoids. According to police, these are devices practically indistinguishable from those sold freely on the market and represent one of the new methods in the illicit market, in one of the first established cases of this type.
Arrested in flagrante, the man was initially placed under house arrest. Following the validation hearing, the judge imposed an obligation to report to the judicial police.
