Islamic Religious Teacher Arrested in Jesi: Violence Against 15 Pupils
A 47-year-old from Bangladesh, a teacher at the Al Taqwa Islamic centre in Jesi, is under house arrest for physical abuse of at least fifteen minors.

A 47-year-old religious education teacher, originally from Bangladesh, has been placed under house arrest on suspicion of physically and psychologically mistreating at least fifteen students at the Al Taqwa Islamic educational centre in Jesi, in the Ancona province. This is reported by Il Fatto Quotidiano - Cronaca.
The precautionary measure was carried out by officers from the Jesi police station and mobile squad, in execution of an order issued by the investigating judge in Ancona. According to the prosecution, the man struck children as a form of punishment when they made mistakes or showed hesitation during lessons.
In detail, the teacher allegedly grabbed a student and struck him with a pen wielded like a knife, as well as slapping him on the head. He allegedly kicked another minor, forcing him to hold his ears. Other children were reportedly hit with slaps and blows, in some cases also with the pen used as an improper weapon.
The investigation, whose developments are also reported by Corriere Adriatico, was initiated following reports gathered among the desks of the ordinary school attended by the minors. Several complaints of ongoing mistreatment had reached the police station, which investigators judged to be consistent and detailed. Inspections carried out in April reportedly confirmed what was described in the reports, revealing coercive and violent educational methods.
The investigation is ongoing to verify the existence of further incidents not yet uncovered.
