Double commemoration in Milan for Calabresi and the 1973 attack victims

Milan Police Headquarters paid tribute on Monday to Chief Superintendent Luigi Calabresi on the 54th anniversary of his killing, which occurred on 17 May 1972, as reported by ANSA Cronaca.

Questore Bruno Megale laid wreaths at the Monument to the Fallen and at Calabresi's bust on via Fatebenefratelli at 8.30. The ceremony then moved to via Cherubini, the location of the ambush in which Calabresi lost his life.

Following this, the commemoration included the victims of the attack carried out outside the police headquarters on 17 May 1973 — the first anniversary after the murder — which caused 4 deaths and 52 injured.

At 10 in the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, nearby, a mass was celebrated in the presence of military and civil authorities.
