Murder in San Giovanni al Natisone: investigative judge upholds husband's arrest

The investigative judge of the Tribunal of Udine has upheld the arrest of a 52-year-old Chinese citizen accused of stabbing to death his wife, a 54-year-old fellow national, on Saturday afternoon at their home in San Giovanni al Natisone, in the province of Udine. ANSA Cronaca reports.

During the hearing, the man exercised his right to remain silent. The judge ordered pre-trial detention in prison. The charges against him are voluntary homicide, aggravated by cruelty and by the family relationship.

The Public Prosecutor's Office has entrusted the autopsy examination to the forensic pathologist Carlo Moreschi. According to what was communicated by the defence counsel, the defendant has requested to meet with his 19-year-old daughter, who intends to join as a civil party in the proceedings.
