Major drug seizure in Milan: drugs frozen in van and cellar

Milan State Police has arrested a 42-year-old Italian man with no criminal record after seizing approximately 100 kilograms of narcotics hidden between a commercial van and a domestic freezer in Senago, in the province of Milan. This is reported by lanuovasardegna.it.

The operation is part of a broader investigative strategy conducted in recent weeks by the Mobile Squad and Milan police stations, with focus on "inconspicuous" storage locations in the city's hinterland.

Officers monitored suspicious movements around a commercial vehicle and a residence, eventually deciding to proceed with a search. The van was registered to a hire company. The 42-year-old was identified at the wheel, and showed evident nervousness at the sight of the officers.

In the rear compartment of the vehicle, two holdalls were found containing blocks of cocaine for a total weight of approximately 45 kg, plus 3 kg of ketamine.

The search was then extended to the man's residence in Senago. In the bedroom wardrobe, officers found approximately 200 grams of marijuana, 140 grams of cocaine, 80 grams of hashish and approximately 2,000 euros in cash.

In the cellar, inside a freezer, hundreds of blocks of hashish weighing approximately 50 kg were seized, together with packaging material. In the cold storage unit, instead of food items, there were sealed packages containing cocaine in blocks, high-quality hashish and ketamine — a synthetic substance growing in use among young people.

The 42-year-old, with no criminal record, was arrested for possession of a large quantity of narcotics and transferred to Milan San Vittore prison, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
