State Police have executed a custody order for imprisonment against an Italian citizen aged 35 accused of two robberies at pharmacies in Milan, committed in August. According to questure.poliziadistato.it, the operation was coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Milan and completed on Saturday 3 October by officers from the Mecenate Police Station.

In the first incident, on 3 August at Corso di Porta Romana, the man grabbed the arm of a female pharmacist to drag her behind the counter, pointed a screwdriver at her while threatening her with death and ordered her to open the till, from which he took 200 euros before fleeing. In the second attempt, on 5 August on Via del Liri, he wore a surgical mask and a 20-centimetre screwdriver concealed under a shirt to hide a tattoo on his hand. However, the manager intuited the man's intentions and blocked the door-opening system, preventing the robbery. The arrested man abandoned the weapon and the piece of clothing at the scene.

Witnesses provided information about the escape route which enabled the rapid apprehension of the man. Analysis of the video surveillance systems confirmed his responsibility in both robberies. The suspect maintains the presumption of innocence until a possible final conviction.
