Death of Fakir in Bologna: preliminary cardiac examinations rule out pre-existing conditions
Initial cardiac examinations on Abderrahim Fakir reveal no pre-existing problems. The final report from the forensic medical consultancy is still awaited.
No pre-existing heart disease for Fakir: investigations continue in Bologna
According to ANSA Cronaca, the initial examinations carried out on the heart of Abderrahim Fakir would appear to rule out pre-existing pathologies affecting the organ. Fakir, 42 years old, died in Bologna on 19 July whilst two police officers were immobilising him.
The analysis forms part of the forensic medical technical consultancy ordered by the Bologna Public Prosecutor's Office, which is investigating with a file classified as model 45 bis. The two police officers and four rescue workers appear on the register of preliminary annotations.
Among the specialists instructed by the public prosecutors to clarify the causes of death is Cristina Basso, anatomopathologist and director of the cardiovascular pathology operative unit in Padua, the location where operations took place in the presence of the independent consultants.
From the autopsy on 24 July, the main findings that emerged were the presence of live blood in the lungs and crushing. The final report will require several more weeks, whilst toxicological and histological findings remain pending.
