Naples: double arrest for murder of 33-year-old in historic centre
Naples police have arrested a woman and a man following the murder of Alessandro Grivano, a 33-year-old man shot dead in the Porta Capuana area approximately a week ago. The detained individuals are Eliana Brunetti, 37, and Ernesto Maddaloni, 40.
According to initial reconstructions, the killing occurred during the night between 3 and 4 July. Maddaloni is believed to have fired several shots from a firearm, one of which fatally struck the victim. Brunetti, riding a motorbike, is believed to have been present at the ambush.
Investigators, led by superintendent Mario Grassia and coordinated by the Naples prosecutor's office, attribute the motive to a romantic relationship that turned violent. The woman is connected to members of the paranza dei bambini, a criminal organisation in the Campania region's capital.
After investigations identified them, the two voluntarily presented themselves at the police headquarters. Brunetti has already appeared before judge Gabriella Ambrosino, who ordered her imprisonment. Maddaloni, believed to be the shooter, is awaiting interrogation for the validation of the arrest.
