State Police officers arrested a 36-year-old man in the Mercato district of Naples, accused of unlawful possession of drugs for trafficking purposes.

The operation took place on Via Sebeto during a routine patrol of the area. Police officers observed the suspect retrieving a package from a flowerbed and handing it to a customer in exchange for money.

Officers intervened immediately, apprehending the dealer. In his possession, 245 euros in notes of various denominations were found. Hidden in the public greenery, police subsequently discovered 14 packages containing cocaine and crack, with a total weight of approximately 3 grammes.

The buyer managed to escape before being identified.

The 36-year-old was taken into custody and handed over to the judicial authorities.
