Naples, 61-year-old drug dealer arrested in Porta Capuana area

A 61-year-old man with a criminal record for drug-related offences was arrested yesterday afternoon in the heart of Naples' historic centre. Officers from the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station, whilst on patrol, were in vico dei Candelari when they noticed a suspicious exchange.

The suspect was handing over a substance to a passer-by in exchange for cash. The police officers intervened immediately, managing to stop both individuals. Ten euros were found on the drug dealer, whilst the other individual had the heroin dose he had just purchased in his pocket.

The 61-year-old was therefore arrested for possession with intent to supply. The buyer, meanwhile, received an administrative fine for possession of drugs intended for personal consumption.
