The State Police have arrested nine people in the Rome neighbourhood of Tor Bella Monaca, dismantling an organisation dedicated to drug trafficking with sophisticated alert systems.

In the Rome neighbourhood of Tor Bella Monaca, officers from the State Police arrested nine individuals involved in drug trafficking. The operation targeted the via dell'Archeologia axis, where the vendors had set up an organisation to evade police controls.
The group operated through a well-defined structure: some members acted as lookouts, keeping watch over access points to the territory; there were signalling mechanisms to warn of the approach of police vehicles; finally, corridors and internal areas of the residential complexes served as routes for escape.
In the first four operations, plainclothes officers intercepted five young North Africans who managed the two-tier distribution system. Hidden inside pipes and cigarette packets, as well as in small storage areas, more than sixty doses of hashish, cocaine and crack were recovered. The haul also included two thousand euros.
Four other drug dealers did likewise, operating independently, moving on foot or by car among the public housing blocks to deliver goods directly to customers. In their possession were found over one hundred and twenty grammes of drugs among hashish, cocaine and crack, along with sums of money in small and medium denominations, considered to be the proceeds of illegal commerce.
A preventive remand order was executed against an Italian national. Investigators from the VI Casilino District located him following searches and took him to Regina Coeli prison. The magistracy validated all the detention measures.
