Clandestine workshop in an agricultural area: stolen lorry and two suspects

On 8 July 2026, personnel from the Public Security Police Station in Sarno identified an unauthorised vehicle repair workshop set up inside a shed in a private agricultural area. According to questure.poliziadistato.it, the operation is part of efforts to counter crimes against property and environmental offences.

During the inspection, officers noted the presence of a lorry with registration plates that did not correspond to the vehicle. Technical checks on the chassis number made it possible to identify the vehicle as a lorry reported stolen on 2 July in the province of Chieti.

The workshop operator was referred to the Judicial Authority for receiving stolen goods and violations of environmental regulations. Numerous vehicles under repair were placed directly on vegetated soil, with potential damage to the environmental matrix: this circumstance led to the criminal seizure of the entire area. The same individual was also cited for administrative violations for unlicensed operation of a vehicle repair business, with a fine exceeding €5,000 imposed and equipment seized.

A second individual was also referred to the Judicial Authority, considered to be seriously suspected of receiving stolen goods: he is the one who had driven the lorry to the workshop and had in his possession the cover registration plate applied to the vehicle.

Further investigations are underway to verify the involvement of other persons and to establish the origin of the other vehicles found in the seized area.
