Murder in Turin: body of Fabio Colapietro dismembered, three arrested

According to tg24.sky.it, the validation hearing has concluded for the three arrested in connection with the murder of Fabio Colapietro, 39 years old, born in Chivasso and resident in Settimo Torinese, whose body was found dismembered in an apartment on the northern outskirts of Turin.
Before the judge for preliminary investigations appeared Christian Matheus De Oliveira Morando, 26 years old, originally from Chivasso and resident in Turin — who confessed to killing the man "unintentionally" —, professor Nicole Formichetti, 47 years old, originally from Rieti — who exercised her right to remain silent —, and Keith Butig, 22 years old, of Philippine origin from Turin. Formichetti and Butig are under investigation for aiding and abetting and complicity in the concealment of a corpse.
The night of the discovery
Everything began on Thursday evening, around 11 p.m., when a woman called 112 to report that her son had harmed someone. This is the mother of Christian Matheus De Oliveira Morando. Police vehicles from the State police reached an apartment in the Mirafiori district, where mother and son were together: the young man told officers that he had killed a person following an altercation in a dwelling on the other side of the city, in via Gulli.
The police immediately went to the indicated address and knocked on the door of the fourth-floor apartment in a building where teacher Nicole Formichetti lives. When the woman opened the door, the officers found the remains of a human body in some black bags. Subsequently, mobile squad officers, forensic police and the medical examiner intervened: further parts of the corpse were found inside buckets, covered with quick-setting cement. Next to the buckets were knives.
The arrests and identification of the victim
On Friday evening, following searches and interrogations, three people were arrested. Against De Oliveira Morando the charges are murder and concealment of a corpse; for Formichetti and Butig, aiding and abetting and complicity in the concealment of a corpse. The victim was identified as Fabio Colapietro, 39 years old, whom his relatives had not heard from for several days.
The account of the arrested man's mother
On Saturday, speaking through the intercom, the mother of Christian Matheus De Oliveira Morando provided her own account of the facts. "It was he himself who called the police from his phone, it was not me," the woman stated. "But when he was speaking to 112 he was very agitated, it was hard to understand. They asked him if there was someone there and he said 'my mother is here'. He handed me the phone and then I spoke, saying: come here, because my son has harmed someone."
According to the woman's account, on Thursday evening her son had indicated to her where he was, but not at the address where the body was later found. "He told me to go to the Rebaudengo area and I found them there in piazza Rebaudengo. From there I begged him to call the police."
The mother described her son as visibly distressed: "He told me very confused things: he was desperate, he kept crying. He made it clear that something very serious had happened, but I told him that he had to call the police and he had to do the right thing, that's all." She also clarified that she did not know the people her son spent time with: "I spend time with a completely different crowd. He hadn't lived here for ages."
