Three people have been arrested for the murder of Vito Genovese, which occurred during the night of Ferragosto in the Zen district of Palermo. According to rainews.it: carabinieri from the San Lorenzo company and the San Filippo Neri station reconstructed the sequence of events and identified the suspected perpetrators.
Among those arrested are a 34-year-old man, Paolo Puleo, and two minors aged 16 and 17.
According to investigators' reconstruction, at around 3 in the morning Genovese allegedly surprised the two teenagers while they were tampering with a relative's garage. The minors allegedly reacted by attacking him with a screwdriver and a helmet. Puleo, who was under house arrest, allegedly intervened in support of them.
During the altercation, a 47-year-old man who was attempting to defend Genovese was also injured: the man sustained a wound to his left shoulder and a rib fracture, but is not in serious condition.
