The 17-year-old to the judge: "I did not strike the victim"

According to ANSA Cronaca, the 17-year-old boy arrested as part of the investigation into the killing of Nicola Musiani has responded to questions from the judge for preliminary investigations at the Bologna juvenile court, distancing himself from the charges and declaring that he did not physically strike the victim.

Musiani, 53 years old, had been beaten to death during the night between 18 and 19 July in Pinarella, on the Ravenna coastline, by a group of young people. For the same incident, carabinieri had already arrested four other young men from Forlì, aged between 19 and 23, accused of murder committed in concert and aggravated by trivial motives.

The minor is also required to answer charges relating to the damage caused to the camper of a 50-year-old seasonal worker from Cesena, who was with Musiani that night. According to investigators, it was he who initiated the dispute with the victim.

The defence lawyer, solicitor Renato Cappelli from the Forlì bar, stated that his client "has cooperated, has given his account", clarifying that "all the accounts will need to be examined against the video footage" and that the individual positions will need to be clarified. The lawyer described the 17-year-old as "shocked by the detention" and presented to judge Anna Filocamo a request for a reduction in the precautionary measure. The file of the Prosecutor's Office for Minors is assigned to prosecutor Filippo Santangelo.
