Scavo murder in Bisceglie: 21-year-old "Unknown 2" arrested, planned to flee to Australia

Fourth person arrested in connection with Divine Club nightclub murder in Bisceglie
A fourth suspect has been arrested in the investigation into the murder of Filippo Scavo, the 43-year-old linked to the Strisciuglio clan in Bari, killed on 19 April at the Divine Club nightclub in Bisceglie. According to lagazzettadelmezzogiorno.it, carabinieri arrested Francesco Di Vittorio, 21-year-old from Modugno, identified as the so-called "Unknown 2" captured by surveillance cameras outside the venue.
Di Vittorio's role in the ambush
According to investigators, Di Vittorio played a far from marginal role in the ambush. Following an initial assault that took place outside the nightclub, he would have facilitated the entry of the armed group into the venue. In the subsequent moments he would have acted as a lookout, before entering and directly participating in the action. Once the ambush was concluded, he would have exited first to reach the Lancia Y used for the getaway, ensuring the rest of the group's departure.
Investigators describe him as a pivotal figure, a connecting element between the different phases of the criminal operation. For the same murder, Dylan Capriati, Nicola Morelli and Aldo Lagioia had already been arrested on 5 May.
The phone intercept that caught the 21-year-old
Working against Di Vittorio is also a telephone intercept between his mother and his brother, which took place the day after La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno published images from the security cameras outside the nightclub — images made public following the arrest of the three accomplices.
Those very photographs, and in particular a still published by the newspaper, showed the 21-year-old identified at the time as "Unknown 2". In the intercepted call, the brother asks his mother: "Mum, have you seen the photos? Have you seen the unknown person on the left?". Francesco Di Vittorio's name is never explicitly mentioned, but the mother orders him to be quiet and not to talk about it on the phone.
The escape plan to Australia
In a second telephone conversation, the mother reportedly told another relative that her son intended to apply for a passport to leave Italy and move to Australia. "By now he is too involved with those people, he needs to leave", she reportedly said on another occasion when speaking to her other son.
Di Vittorio's arrest closes, at least at this stage, the investigative net around the murder that occurred during the night of 18 and 19 April inside the Bisceglie dance venue.
