Italian carabinieri discovered 3.2 million euros in cash during an antimaffia operation conducted in Caivano, in the Naples region, according to TF1 Info. The money had been hidden in walls, inside furniture and beneath the shower tray of an apartment belonging to a man suspected of running a drug trafficking network.
During the same search, investigators seized eleven Rolex watches valued at 127,000 euros in total, as well as several weapons. The operation also led to the arrest of 34 people accused of belonging to this criminal network.
Images released by Italian police show the extent of the hiding places used to conceal the funds, revealing an organised operation designed to shield trafficking profits from authorities. The operation is part of ongoing efforts by Italian law enforcement against mafia networks active in the Naples region.
