Anti-drug operation in Abruzzo: Albanian and Campania man arrested
In the province of L'Aquila, officers from the local police headquarters blocked a thirty-seven-year-old Albanian national near the western exit of the city's motorway. During the search, investigators found and seized fourteen packages of cocaine, allegedly ready to be introduced into the local market.
In a separate but related action against drug trafficking, carabinieri from Castel di Sangro arrested a twenty-one-year-old from Campania. The young man was caught while transporting approximately half a kilogramme of hashish in his car, a Fiat group utility vehicle.
Both detainees must answer charges of possession with intent to traffic in drugs. The younger man has been taken to the high-security prison in Sulmona, pending the magistrate's validation of the coercive measure.
