Operation "Domino": Network dismantled for counterfeit euros sold on Telegram
Twelve precautionary measures issued in Naples against a group that distributed counterfeit banknotes via an encrypted Telegram channel, with payments made exclusively in bitcoin.

Carabinieri from the cryptocurrency section of the anti-counterfeiting monetary command dismantled a criminal group engaged in the sale of counterfeit banknotes through Telegram, according to ANSA Cronaca. The operation, called "Domino" and coordinated by the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office, led to the notification of 12 precautionary measures against the same number of suspects.
The measures include three arrests in custody, five under house arrest, two residence obligations and two obligations to report to the judicial police. The suspects are charged with the offences of criminal association and self-laundering.
The operational base of the group was located in the Quartieri Spagnoli in Naples. Through an encrypted Telegram channel called "Elreal Shop", counterfeit banknotes — in denominations of 20, 50 and 100 euros — were advertised and sold both in Italy and abroad. Payments were made exclusively in bitcoin.
