Operation Parma Secure: widespread inspections and arrests in the province

According to questure.poliziadistato.it, the State Police conducted a series of intensive inspections in the province of Parma between 11 and 17 October 2026, as part of the operation called "O.P.S. – Operation Parma Secure". The activity resulted in the identification of 1,121 persons, of which over 300 are of foreign nationality, and the inspection of 192 vehicles.

During the period indicated, 15 individuals were reported. Among the offences contested are threats, aggravated personal injury, receiving stolen goods, attempted improper robbery, resistance to a Public Official and driving under the influence of alcohol. Seven of those reported are of foreign nationality.

On the morning of 12 October, officers from the Rapid Response Squad responded to a report in Via Atene concerning a man loitering in the adjacent park. Upon arrival, they intercepted a 42-year-old Tunisian who, during the inspection, began hurling insults at the police and refusing to provide his details. The man pushed the officers and, during transport to Police Headquarters, committed acts of self-harm while maintaining an aggressive and insulting attitude. He was reported for resistance to a Public Official and refusal to provide information regarding his details.

On the afternoon of 15 October, the Questor ordered an extraordinary inspection service in the city centre, with support from the Crime Prevention Unit of Reggio Emilia, the Anti-drug Dog Unit of Padua and the Local Police. On Strada Mazzini, officers detected the smell of marijuana from a cigarette smoked by a man. The personal search made it possible to find 6 grammes of marijuana in six heat-sealed bags. The man was reported for possession of a narcotic substance.

Subsequently, during the inspection of a group of young foreign nationals in Piazzale Corridoni, a 22-year-old Egyptian was identified as being irregular on national territory. Taken to the Immigration Office, he was transferred to the Removal Centre of Ponte Galeria in Rome. The individual had previous convictions for theft, robbery and offences relating to narcotic substances.

During patrolling on Via Toschi, on the banks of the Parma stream, the dog from the anti-drug unit allowed the seizure of 35.1 grammes of cannabis. In Ducale Park, 70.6 grammes of hashish were also found concealed in some hedges. The extraordinary service resulted in the identification of 68 persons, of which 37 are foreign nationals and 16 are minors, the inspection of 5 vehicles, and the combined seizure of 111.7 grammes of narcotic substance.

In the same week, Police Headquarters intensified action against clandestine immigration. A 44-year-old Senegalese man, stopped by the Rapid Response Squad on 13 October following a report concerning a quarrel, was found to be irregular. On 14 October he was expelled by the Immigration Office and taken to Bologna airport for immediate repatriation.
