Operation Parma Sicura: 281 grammes of drugs seized in city parks
The State Police seized over 281 grammes of narcotics between Parco Ducale and Parco Falcone e Borsellino. 2,541 people were identified during checks from 1 to 6 June 2026.
Drugs hidden among bushes: major seizure in Parma parks
According to questure.poliziadistato.it, as part of the "O.P.S. – Operation Parma Sicura" operation, the State Police identified almost 2,541 people between 1 and 6 June 2026, of which 944 were of foreign nationality, checked approximately 521 vehicles and 10 commercial premises. The activities were supported by the Crime Prevention Unit of Reggio Emilia, a drug-detection dog unit from Bologna Police Headquarters and Local Police.
During territory controls on 1 June, aimed at combating drug trafficking and widespread crime, officers found and seized a total of 281.2 grammes of narcotic substance in the city parks: 248.2 grammes of hashish, 16.7 grammes of marijuana and 15.7 grammes of cocaine.
Parco Ducale and Parco Falcone e Borsellino targeted
At Parco Ducale, thanks to the drug-detection dog unit from Bologna Police Headquarters, officers recovered 118 grammes of hashish and 16.7 grammes of marijuana, hidden among bushes and already divided into doses ready for distribution.
The search was also extended to Parco Falcone e Borsellino, where the drug-detection dog Havana indicated additional quantities: 130.7 grammes of hashish, already divided into small fragments ready for dealing, and 15.7 grammes of cocaine divided into 25 doses. All the substance was seized against unknown persons.
During the same controls at Parco Ducale, a 39-year-old Nigerian citizen, legally resident in the national territory, was sanctioned for possession of 0.6 grammes of hashish for personal use.
From the start of the year: almost 900 grammes of hashish seized
From 1 January to date, patrols in the city parks have led to the seizure of a total of 870 grammes of hashish, 19.3 grammes of marijuana and 22 grammes of cocaine. At Parco Falcone e Borsellino, 539 grammes of hashish and 22 grammes of cocaine were recovered; at Parco Ducale, 320 grammes of hashish and 19.3 grammes of marijuana; a further 20 grammes of hashish were found at the railway station.
The State Police communicated that territory control activities will be further intensified in anticipation of the summer season.
