Large-scale drug base discovered in Campagnano di Roma: father and son arrested

A police search in Campagnano di Roma has uncovered 42 kilogrammes of narcotics — hashish, marijuana and cocaine — hidden in multiple locations on the same property. According to romatoday.it, arrested are a 52-year-old father and his 23-year-old son, both from Rome, on charges of drug possession with intent to supply.

The hiding places were distributed between the main residence and three outbuildings: a warehouse, a wooden shed and a metal structure. Part of the substance was concealed among furniture and electrical appliances, whilst the remainder was placed in structures external to the property.

The diversification of storage locations, combined with the different packaging methods employed, revealed to investigators a structured organisation, designed to keep the various types of drug separate and simplify logistical management.

Among the seized material were precision scales, vacuum-sealing machines, knives and cutters soaked in narcotics. Also found were two sous-vide machines — appliances normally used for low-temperature cooking — which according to investigators were used to maintain water at a constant temperature during the substance treatment, facilitating the maturation process and increasing the concentration of the active ingredient.
