A canadair pilot was stabbed in the neck in the car park of Lamezia Terme airport and taken urgently to hospital in critical condition, according to ANSA Cronaca. The attacker, based on initial information, is believed to be a foreign national.
According to initial reconstructions, the man arrived at the airport by car, wounded the pilot with a knife and then drove away in the same vehicle. The Border Police are already on his trail.
Investigators are examining images from the airport's closed-circuit television cameras to arrive at a certain identification of the attacker.
