The 37-year-old and the 41-year-old were detained for joint possession of narcotics for the purpose of distribution; the younger man was also charged with unauthorised carrying of a weapon.
Officers were patrolling the area around piazza della Repubblica when they observed the 41-year-old approaching a roller shutter, removing drugs from a hiding place and handing them to his accomplice, who sold them to a buyer. The latter was detained and issued an administrative sanction for possession for personal use.
In an attempt to escape, one of the two dealers dropped a bag containing 45 grammes of hashish between two cars.
