Italian police detained rapper Tony Boy, the stage name of Antonio Hueber, 26, in the early hours of Saturday morning in Milan after finding drugs, a gun with the serial number removed, and approximately fifty rounds of ammunition at his home, according to elmundo.es.
The operation began when officers intercepted the musician in the back of a vehicle alongside a friend. The discovery of a small bag containing cocaine inside the car led security forces to search Hueber's residence.
At the home, officers found four grams of cocaine, eight grams of hashish and one gram of marijuana, as well as a precision scale, a 6.35-calibre gun with the serial number removed, and approximately fifty rounds of ammunition.
Hueber was transported to Milan's San Vittore prison, accused of possession of narcotics with intent to traffic and illegal weapons possession. The prosecution also filed a complaint against him for resisting authority, receiving stolen goods, and unlawful data processing.
This last charge stems from the artist's behaviour during the search itself: Hueber began to live-stream the police operation on his social networks. "I'll record myself, I won't record you, but I don't understand why you're in my house," he said to the officers, who asked him to turn off his phone.
A native of Padua, Tony Boy is an emerging figure in the Italian urban music scene with one million followers on Instagram and over 2.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
