The State Police has executed, in recent days, an order for precautionary custody under house arrest against an Italian 41-year-old, believed to be the fourth member of a group responsible for a robbery in a residential building carried out in July 2024 in central Turin. The facts date back to a morning in July 2024, when four people went to a building on Via Fabro. Three of them entered the condominium; the fourth remained outside to act as lookout. Upon the arrival of the domestic worker, the three present in the building blocked her at the lift exit, dragged her into the flat and tied both her and the owner to their wrists. The robbers seized with violence a watch worth 15,000 euros, worn by the man, and then fled together with the external accomplice, leaving the victims still tied up.
The investigation, conducted by the Turin Mobile Squad, made use of images from surveillance systems, analysis of telephone traffic and subsequent technical activities. These elements had already made it possible to gather serious evidence against three members of the group, for whom an order for precautionary custody in prison was issued. Two of them were traced and arrested in June 2025; a third remains still at large.
Subsequent investigations led to the identification of the 41-year-old as the fourth member of the group. The investigators believe that the man is the mastermind and architect of the action: he would have identified the target and provided the perpetrators with the material necessary to carry out the robbery.
The proceedings are in the preliminary investigation phase. The presumption of innocence of the person under investigation therefore applies pending any final sentence.
