The operation was launched at approximately 12:00, when the Operations Centre of the Questura issued a notice to all units on duty for territorial control, reporting a robbery that had occurred a few minutes earlier inside the commercial premises.
The course of the robbery
From initial information gathered, it emerged that the suspect had taken possession of two bottles of perfume with a total commercial value of approximately 400 euros, concealing them in his shoulder bag before heading towards the shop exit.
Some employees noticed the movement and alerted the security officer. The man, realising he had been discovered, quickened his pace to reach the exit as rapidly as possible.
On the stairs he lost one of the two bottles. The security officer reached him and ordered him to return the other perfume still hidden in his shoulder bag and leave the premises. The man did not desist: he pushed the security officer and a second young man present, then grabbed by the neck one of the sales assistants who had in the meantime positioned herself in front of the exit door, throwing her against a wall before making his escape. In his hurried flight he also lost the second bottle of perfume.
Stopped by the Hawks Section
Immediate searches conducted by personnel of the Hawks Section of the Mobile Squad enabled them to trace the fugitive and stop him a short distance from the shop.
The 55-year-old was declared arrested and taken to prison at the disposal of the Judicial Authority. The judge, having considered the circumstances of the activity carried out by the officers, confirmed the arrest and ordered that the suspect remain in custody.
