Rimini, man arrested to serve definitive drugs sentence

The Rimini Mobile Squad executed a detention measure issued by the Office of the Republic at the local Court. The operation resulted in the arrest of an Italian citizen, traced in the Romagna capital.

The measure concerns a definitive sentence for offences relating to controlled substances. The facts in question date to 2020 and 2025, both of which occurred in Rimini. The remaining sentence to be served amounts to four years, nine months and twenty-seven days' imprisonment.

Investigators from the Mobile Squad located the subject in the city centre. After identification procedures and completion of the necessary documentation, the man was transferred to the local remand prison.

It is recalled that, as provided for under Italian law, the presumption of innocence remains in effect against those under investigation and the accused until a final sentence is handed down.
