A serious police investigation is underway in Rome, where five non-EU citizens have been arrested as suspects in the abduction, extortion with threats and rape of a 32-year-old Colombian woman. According to judicial sources, the woman was allegedly held against her will in an abandoned location in the capital, where she suffered repeated abuse and threats to her life, as reported by the ANSA agency.
The authorities have announced that a total of five people have been arrested as suspects in the case, while another eleven individuals connected to the incident have been expelled from Italy, although they were not notified of charges for gang rape.
The woman, according to the same sources, managed to escape after three days and exit the building, where she was found on the street asking for help. Law enforcement was immediately informed, intervened and launched the investigation that led to the arrests.
The police investigation is still ongoing, with authorities examining all the details of the case.
