Dealing network dismantled in Reggio Calabria: six in custody
Carabinieri have dismantled an organisation involved in the trafficking of cocaine, hashish and marijuana operating in Rosarno and nearby municipalities, according to rainews.it. Two of those arrested have been taken into prison, four are under house arrest.
The investigation reconstructed a veritable drug supply chain, capable of supplying buyers with extreme speed: deliveries took place outside clients' homes or at agreed meeting points, including post offices and town squares.
The suspects reside in Rosarno, Taurianova — in the province of Reggio Calabria — and Rose, on the outskirts of Cosenza. The military personnel documented over 250 dealing episodes.
Orders were placed by telephone using code words: "cigarettes", "coffee" or "wine", depending on the type and quantity of drug requested. Payment was made in cash or through bank transfers to accounts in the names of front men. Those who failed to settle their debts were threatened with death or subjected to extortion.
