A twenty-year-old boy has admitted to being the perpetrator of the murder of his mother, which occurred in their holiday residence in Sanremo. During the hearing for the validation of the precautionary measure, the young man gave way and admitted his responsibility.
The victim, a 59-year-old woman, was found dead on Monday evening in an apartment on via Hope. According to what emerged from the investigation, she was strangled. Mother and son were supposed to stay in that place for the entire month of July.
Investigators had focused their suspicions on the young man from the start, who studies at the university in Piacenza and who reportedly had shown some behavioural difficulties in the past. No information has emerged about the reasons that drove the boy to commit the act.
At the end of the hearing, the magistrate validated the detention in prison. The young man is charged with voluntary homicide with the aggravating factor of family relationship.
