100 kg of drugs seized for North Adriatic nightlife: 16 arrests

An operation by the State Police has led to the seizure of approximately 100 kilogrammes of narcotic substances destined for the North Adriatic nightlife scene. Sixteen people have been arrested, including some members of Roman organised crime.

The investigation, conducted by Rome's Mobile Squad with the support of the Questura, has made it possible to dismantle a drug trafficking network active in the seaside localities of the Adriatic coast. The drugs seized, mainly cocaine and hashish, were destined for nightclubs and entertainment areas along the riviera.

The arrestees are accused of international trafficking in narcotic substances and possession for the purpose of dealing. The investigation revealed connections between the criminal group and criminal organisations in Lazio.
