Police officers from Sora Police Station have reported a local professional in a state of freedom for serious assault. The woman attacked her partner, causing him to lose an eye.
The incident emerged during investigations conducted by officers. The victim, seriously injured, remained for several hours abandoned on the street without assistance. An acquaintance, finding him, took him to the emergency room of Cassino hospital. Doctors, having ascertained the severity of the injuries, ordered his transfer to a hospital in the capital.
According to the reconstruction, the man had intervened to calm a discussion between his partner and a relative of hers. For this mediation attempt he was attacked. Despite the victim having shown a somewhat uncooperative attitude with investigators, within a few days the officers had gathered sufficient evidence to establish a serious presumption of guilt against the woman.
The professional is charged with the offence of serious assault for depriving her partner of sight in one eye. Her position remains under investigation and will be definitively assessed by the judicial authorities, in accordance with the principle of presumption of innocence.
