41-year-old drug dealer arrested in Brescia: heroin, cocaine and hashish seized
Brescia's Mobile Squad has arrested a local offender for possession with intent to supply. Found were approximately 100 grammes of heroin, cocaine, hashish and material for packaging.
Arrest in the Fornaci neighbourhood: 100 grammes of heroin and other substances seized
The Mobile Squad of the State Police in Brescia has arrested a 41-year-old man, resident in the city and with numerous previous convictions, for possession with intent to supply controlled substances. This is reported by questure.poliziadistato.it, clarifying that the measure falls within services aimed at countering predatory crimes and drug trafficking.
The offender, already convicted in the past for crimes against the person and drug dealing, had recently completed a period of probation for domestic abuse, causing bodily harm and harassment against his ex-wife.
Anonymous tip-off and surveillance
The operation was launched following an anonymous report indicating the man as active in dealing near a pharmacy and a bank in the Fornaci neighbourhood. Officers began an observation and surveillance operation, at the end of which they stopped the suspect inside a bar in the area.
The subsequent search of his home was successful: inside a small box in the bathroom of the dwelling, approximately 100 grammes of heroin, cocaine, hashish, material for packaging doses and precision scales were found.
Arrested and placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor
Taken to the Questura offices, the man was arrested caught in the act at the end of judicial police procedures and was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The Questore of the Province of Brescia, Paolo Sartori, issued against him, in application of the Anti-Mafia Code, the personal prevention measure of a public safety warning, preparatory to the possible imposition of special surveillance.
The Questore's comments
"Prevention and suppression of drug dealing is of fundamental importance in police action in order to deprive criminal organisations of sources of illicit income," said Questore Sartori. "In this way, a barrier is placed against the spread of street-level micro-dealing, which generates not only an increase in predatory crimes aimed at purchasing doses, but also a widespread sense of insecurity among citizens."
Sartori particularly emphasised the significance of the heroin seizure: "What is of greatest concern in this specific case is the substantial, and unusual in recent times, seizure of heroin, a type of drug that causes immediate dependence in those who consume it and that has for some time been difficult to find widely available on the Brescia market."
