Drug dealing at home and by bicycle: four arrests by police in east Rome
Officers from the Mobile Squad's Falcons have arrested four people in various districts of Rome's eastern suburbs. Cocaine, cash and ready-prepared doses were seized.
Four arrests for drug dealing in Rome's eastern suburbs
The Falcons of the Mobile Squad of the State Police have arrested four people and seized numerous doses of narcotics in the eastern part of Rome. This is reported by rainews.it, noting that a drug user was additionally reported to the Prefect. All arrests were validated by the judicial authority.
Investigators from the VI Section of the Mobile Squad operated in multiple districts of the Capital's eastern suburbs, interrupting retail drug dealing activities organised in different ways: from appointment-based deliveries to street dealing.
Cocaine delivered at home in the Alessandrino district
A 55-year-old Roman woman was arrested in the Alessandrino district, believed to be responsible for running a network for selling cocaine directly from her home on via dei Girasoli. Buyers contacted her by telephone, arranged meetings and collected the drug from under the building's entrance.
Officers, positioned in stakeout near the building, caught the woman in the act of handing over the substance to a customer. The buyer was identified and reported to the Prefect for personal use.
A search of the flat led to the seizure of over 60 grammes of cocaine already divided into doses, kept in two eyeglass cases. Around 2,000 euros in cash was also found on the sofa, mainly in small denomination banknotes, along with notes related to drug dealing accounts.
Deliveries by bicycle on via dell'Archeologia
A 25-year-old Roman man was stopped on via dell'Archeologia, where he was carrying out drug deliveries on a bicycle. Caught during a sale, he attempted to flee by abandoning the bicycle but was apprehended after a few metres by officers. He was carrying several doses of narcotics on him.
Operation with lookouts at Ponte di Nona
Two other arrests were carried out at Ponte di Nona, between via Capitini and via Luthuli, where investigators identified a drug dealing operation with lookouts and support personnel.
The first man arrested, a 21-year-old Moroccan citizen, used a green area as a depot, concealing the substance underground near a bench. The second drug dealer had instead hidden the narcotics inside a water meter between public housing buildings. During the checks, officers recovered 18 packets of cocaine, kept in a cigarette packet and already prepared for sale.
