19-year-old detained with 21 hashish sticks in Caltanissetta
The State Police arrested a 19-year-old in Caltanissetta for dealing in narcotic substances, as reported by Google News IT — Crime (it). The operation took place last Sunday as part of territory control services ordered by the Questore in the historic centre of the provincial capital.
Officers from a patrol vehicle intercepted a 20-year-old — flagged as a drug user — who was stationary in a small car below the 19-year-old's house. During the observation operation, police officers saw the young man, already known for previous dealing-related offences, exit from his front door, get into the vehicle and hide something under a pair of shorts inside the car. After completing the delivery, the 19-year-old got out of the vehicle and returned to his home.
After the small car drove away, officers proceeded to search the vehicle, seizing three hashish sticks with a total weight of approximately two grammes, found under the shorts. The driver was reported to the administrative authorities for personal use of narcotic substances.
A search of the 19-year-old's home resulted in the discovery of a further eight hashish sticks in the bedside table in the bedroom and thirteen concealed behind the barbecue on the veranda, for a total weight of approximately 15 grammes.
Officers from the Mobile Squad, who intervened in support of the patrol vehicles, determined that the transaction between dealer and buyer had taken place via the chat of a well-known social network.
The 19-year-old was arrested and, on the instructions of the public prosecutor of the Procura della Repubblica in Caltanissetta, taken into house arrest. Last Thursday the Judge for Preliminary Investigations validated the arrest and ordered the precautionary measure of house arrest with an electronic bracelet.
The responsibility of the arrested person, by virtue of the principle of presumption of innocence, shall be established only as a result of a final sentence.
