Two thieves arrested at count's villa in Vigevano: stolen goods recovered

According to reports from ANSA Cronaca, during the night between Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 August, around 3 a.m., two men attempted to ransack the villa of Count Castelbarco Albani in the Sforzesca district of Vigevano, in the province of Pavia.

The two thieves, both sixty-two years old, were targeting valuable watches and jewellery. The robbery was thwarted by the villa's caretaker, who was awakened by the alarm system triggering after a French door had been forced open. The woman immediately alerted the police, who arrived at the scene and arrested the two men in flagrante.

A third accomplice managed to escape into the surrounding fields. Officers recovered all the stolen goods — bags full of watches and jewellery — which were returned to their owners.
