Marijuana seizure in Ternate
According to ilgiorno.it, Varese carabinieri discovered a home-based marijuana cultivation in Ternate during a residential search on 10 October 2026. The operation led to the arrest of a 41-year-old Italian man, who was already known to law enforcement and subject to a preventive measure.
During the inspection, the officers found 36 Indian cannabis plants hanging in the drying phase inside a warehouse adjoining the residence, with heights varying between 50 and 200 centimetres. In the courtyard garden was a seventh plant, approximately two metres tall, cultivated directly in the ground.
In addition to the plants, a precision scales and a glass jar containing several grams of already dried and ground substance were seized, found in the bedroom and apparently ready for packaging and consumption.
All material was placed under seizure pending laboratory analysis, necessary to determine the active ingredient and quality of the substance. The arrestee must answer charges of possession and cultivation of narcotics. He was placed under house arrest pending determinations by the judicial authority.
