Turin: Senegalese man arrested whilst on house arrest with 700 grammes of drugs and €8,600
The State Police have arrested a 28-year-old Senegalese man in Turin found with nearly 700 grammes of cocaine and crack and €8,600 in cash, despite being under house arrest.

The State Police have arrested a 28-year-old Senegalese citizen in Turin for possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of trafficking, as reported by questure.poliziadistato.it. The man was already subject to a house arrest measure at the time of detention.
Officers from the patrol units of the Barriera Milano Police Station went in recent days to a property in the Madonna di Campagna area to verify the person's presence at the address. Upon arrival, the police officers found the apartment door open and observed the man as he was preparing to leave, with banknotes in his hand that he was counting.
Next to the entrance, inside a cardboard box, the officers found a bag containing narcotic substance. The subsequent home search led to the seizure of approximately 700 grammes in total of cocaine in rock form, discs and crack fragments. During the same operation, cash totalling nearly €8,600 was also seized, believed to be proceeds from trafficking activity.
Following the investigation, the 28-year-old was arrested for possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of trafficking.
The criminal proceedings are currently at the preliminary investigation stage. The presumption of innocence therefore applies to the person under investigation until a final verdict is reached.
