Three Colombian nationals arrested in Novara with 4.8 kg of highly pure cocaine
The State Police of Novara and Ferrara have arrested three Colombian nationals found in possession of 4.8 kg of cocaine with 90% purity. The investigating judge has validated the arrest and ordered pre-trial detention.

The State Police of Novara and Ferrara arrested three Colombian nationals on Wednesday 1 July found in possession of 4.8 kilograms of cocaine with 90% purity. This is reported by Google News IT — Crime (it), citing the official communication from the police headquarters.
The three men, aged 47, 24 and 23, had been in Italy for only a few days. Before their arrest, the vehicle in which they were travelling had already been subjected to a check in the chief town of the Ferrara province: initial inspections revealed that they had purchased solvents and chemical preparations typically used in the processing of drugs.
The Mobile Squads therefore initiated technical and observation services at the residence where the three men were staying, in a municipality in the lower Novara area. Officers stopped them as they were getting into the hired car.
In the luggage, hidden among clothing, four cocaine bricks were found along with a bag containing coca paste still to be processed, for a total weight exceeding 4.8 kilograms. The search was extended to the residence, where materials and chemical products for processing coca paste were seized, a press for shaping bricks, and a money-counting machine.
The three were arrested and taken to Novara prison. The investigating judge of the Novara Court, at the request of the public prosecutor's office of the Republic's Prosecutor's Office in Novara, validated the arrest and ordered pre-trial detention in prison for all three.
Given the high purity of the substance — which could have been further "cut" — the authorities estimate that the seizure prevented the release onto the market of over 20,000 doses.
