From initial reconstructions, it appears that the alleged attacker, a 32-year-old compatriot, had been waiting for him hidden among the bushes near the residence. Upon the victim's arrival, a scuffle broke out, during which the man was struck multiple times in the chest with the screwdriver.
Emergency medical services intervened promptly at the scene and provided initial care, but the victim died during transport to hospital.
The alleged perpetrator then fled on foot and disappeared. The carabinieri are believed to have already identified him, but he has not yet been located. The investigation is ongoing to find him and to reconstruct precisely the circumstances of what happened.
